Tutoring Policies

These policies are designed to ensure a smooth, professional, and consistent experience for all our clients and tutors. By purchasing services from us you are agreeing to these terms.

Session length

Radical Reading services operate on ‘professional hours’; that is a one-hour session is 50 minutes long and a half-hour session is 25 minutes.

Payments and invoices

All services are paid in advance through our highly secure Shopify Payments system, which accepts all major credit cards and debit cards.

  • Subscription plan payments are processed automatically each month at the start of your billing cycle (the day of the month you first purchased your subscription)
  • Single session payments are paid at time of booking through our Shopify checkout system

Records of all your purchases are available on your secure customer account page where you can review charges and also print invoices if required.

Session booking, cancellations and rescheduling

All tutoring and consulting sessions are scheduled through our online booking system through links provided after the service is purchased. The designated parent contact will receive a calendar invite as well as email and/or SMS reminders for each session. Our tutors reserve their time specifically for you. Late cancellations and no-shows prevent other students from booking that slot.

  • Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance
  • Cancellations with over 24 hours notice can be rescheduled or refunded
  • Cancellations with 2 to 24 hours notice receive a 50% refund and are rebooked at the regular rate
  • No-shows or cancellations under 2 hours notice are not refundable and must be rebooked at the regular rate

Subscription management

You can manage your subscription plan through our ecommerce interface which allows you to SKIP, PAUSE or CANCEL your plan anytime. However we do have some policies and restrictions around these actions. Here’s how they work:

  • SKIP - this action skips your next payment (according to your billing cycle) and automatically resumes the following month. Use this to take winter or summer holiday break if you like. We limit clients to 2 SKIPS per year, in order to utilize our Lexia licenses properly as well as provide program fidelity for your child’s success.
  • PAUSE - this action pauses your subscription until you unpause. Use this if you need to take a break for multiple months but intend to restart at some point. We will require a re-enrollment fee to cover admin expenses when you restart your plan.
  • CANCEL - do this whenever you decide you are done with our program. Your Lexia data will be erased and your Radical Reading account archived.

Note that there is no access to MyLexia when your subscription is on skip or pause, but we maintain your child's data for when they restart.

Advance notice of subscription plan change

  • Lexia Basic Plan - no advance notice required
  • Lexia 1:1 Plan - 4 weeks advance notice required
  • OG Tutoring - 4 weeks advance notice required

Discontinuation of Service

Radical Reading Co. Ltd. reserves the right to terminate services with any client who repeatedly violates these policies, or in fact for any reason whatsoever.
