The Lexia Basic Plan is the best place to start for most kids. You get the Lexia Core5 program along with expert oversight, guidance and support. Wherever your child is in terms of grade level and skills, the program will adapt to start strengthening foundations and building confidence right from day one.

Our Lexia Basic plan includes:

  • unlimited access to the Lexia Core5 program
  • watchful expert monitoring and proactive guidance
  • timely expert Lexia Lessons as required (purchased separately)
  • detailed monthly parent reports
  • two scheduled parent meetings per year (book additional meetings anytime for a reasonable fee)

For every learning concept, Lexia has excellent scaffolding when a child needs extra support. When that's not enough, and your child gets stuck on a skill, the program will flag them for a Lexia Lesson—a private half-hour session of direct instruction along with related materials. What to expect when you enroll.

Onboarding and placement

We’ll kick off with a private session (the only parent attendance required) and make sure your setup and logins are all organized and you child is comfortable with his tutor. Then we’ll do the Lexia Auto Placement, an assessment to determine exactly where your child should start.

Lexia time: fun for kids, easy for parents

Lexia builds independent learning skills and requires minimum involvement from parents. The program runs the sessions, keeping kids motivated and actively learning through fun, game-like activities and achievement recognition. They can get their Lexia time in short chunks, anywhere you can take an iPad or laptop, so it fits into the cracks of family life.

Personalized path, built-in supports

Each child starts at their just-right level, with the program adapting instruction to target specific strengths and weaknesses. Lexia provides in-the-moment instruction and scaffolding if a child struggles, so they learn from mistakes quickly and build confidence.

Continuous assessment, expert monitoring

We keep a close eye on your child’s progress data. Are they getting their time in? Do they need reinforcement in a specific skill? We’ll recommend (and deliver) 1:1 Lexia Lessons and/or Skill Builders as needed so your child keeps progressing and never gets stuck and frustrated and keeps up momentum.

Lexia Lessons: Timely targeted intervention

Some kids do the entire program with just the built-in scaffolding, but most need a little teacher support now and then. When we spot a problem in the data, we’ll jump in to deliver a Lexia Lesson. This is a highly targeted private tutoring session to quickly get over the bump and move on. So your child ever develops serious learning gaps.

Regular progress reports

You’ll get regular emails from us with the latest progress report PDF and a note from your Radical tutor with comments and recommendations needed. You’ll see your child progressing, and you’ll see the data that proves it! And of course, if we see a problem, you’ll hear from us right away.

Timely tutor meetings

Once every few months, or as needed, we’ll have a call to discuss progress, answer questions and plan next steps.
