We handle the teaching. You handle the habit.

Your part is small. It is not optional.

What Radical does, and what we ask of you.
What we do What we ask
Place your child at their exact level Protect the session, most days
Scan the data every day, review it in full every week A charged device and a spot they like
Teach the skill that isn't holding Show up for the 1:1
Tell you what we see, in plain language Tell us when life gets in the way

Ten minutes in JK. Fifteen in SK–Grade 2. Twenty in Grades 3–5.

Reading is a daily habit, not a weekly appointment.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I enroll?

Three steps before the program starts, and the first two take about ten minutes.

1 · Your intake form arrives immediately.
A few questions about your child: what they're reading now, what's going well, and what you've been wondering about. It's your chance to say the things a program can't see on its own.

2 · Submit it and your booking link arrives.
Choose a time that suits your family, evenings and weekends included. Most families are booked within 2-3 days.

3 · Personal onboarding, live with your Radical expert.
About 45 minutes, with you and your child together. You'll meet the person who will be watching your child's progress, get everything set up and signed in, and your child will do their Lexia® Core5® placement while you're there.

About the placement. It isn't a test. Your child works through a short adaptive activity and Lexia finds their exact level as they go. Nothing to prepare, nothing to revise, and you'll hear where they landed before the session ends.

Why it starts with a person. It would be easy to send you a login and leave you to it. That isn't how this begins. From the first session there's someone who knows your child's name, has heard what you're worried about, and will be reading their data every week. Children work differently when they know a real person is paying attention. So do parents.

After onboarding, your child's 15 minutes a day begins and your first 1:1 lesson is booked from there.

Can we pause, switch or cancel?

We don't believe in holding parents hostage. There is a "Cancel Subscription" button right in your parent dashboard. One click, no phone calls, no guilt trips.

What if I've picked the wrong grade?

Yes, you can skip a month anytime, or hit pause for multiple months, with just a click in your parent dashboard. We keep your child's data profile data so you can restart exactly where you left off.

How fast can we start? What does week one look like?

We don't do “wait and see” and let your child lose momentum. If we see signs of frustration with a specific concept (like 'silent e' or 'vowel teams') that the software scaffolding isn't fixing, we will recommend a quick Radical Boost to address exactly that issue and get them unstuck and going again.

What do we need — and do I need to sit with them?

Yes, you can switch your plan anytime as your child's reading journey evolves. Further, we will make recommendations according to your child's needs. It's our job to make sure the program is working optimally for your child. Our goal is to make things easy for parents.
